The feature is a little bit dodgy. One of the open issues is error recovery. Currently you lose your input in case of an error. On the other hand, this is usually not much.

But on the plus side all error messages are fully internationalized, at least under normal circumstances. A considerable amount of players on FIBS do not understand English, and the possibility to translate error messages into their native language is an important feature.
